'War on Terror' Purple Heart group
I've had this group quite awhile now hoping to find a way to research the soldier a bit more and finding it a poignant and enigmatic group.
Official Purple Heart certificate in Army binder to a 1/9th Cavalry trooper wounded in 2004 in the fierce fighting on Haifa Street in Baghdad.  As found with his unnamed Purple Heart and ARCOM with Combat V device. Also included is a copy of the award orders for his ARCOM/V that details the action in which he was wounded.
The citation, where he provided cover for dismounted soldiers caught in an ambush and engaged and killed three different enemy combatants, certainly reads like one for a higher award.
This Stars & Stripes article tells more of the story.
