Nationalist Chinese Officer's Dagger
Wartime CBI vet's bringback but sorry to say no more history I can add to that.  Light surface age as shown on the blade and scabbard, will certainly clean up some.  Note dings to scabbard, no creases.  'Mock tortoise' shell and brass grip is fine.  There seem to be a number of variations to this dagger and I know of no publication or web source that covers them.  This example is, I believe, early as it does not have provisions for a release clip between the scabbard and the crossguard. It features the mum style on the guard and I believe this is also early as it was discarded as 'too Japanese' in favor of the flags and banners variations found later.
