WWI Silver Star with great Marne citation
Light age only to this numbered (7414) BB&B Silver Star with original ribbon and full wrap broach.  Officially named to Frank J. Lackey.
This award comes with his G.O. card copy...
Private First Class Lackey earned his Silver Star on July 15th 1918 during the famed Battle of the Marne while serving with Battery B, 10th Field Artillery, 3rd Division.
Most of the Silver Stars I research for WWI have citations that don't really tell you much about what the man did.  This citation notes that PFC Lackey made two mile long treks through shellfire to deliver ammo during this well known action!  The full citation is shown below.  Read it, and if your imagination is as vivid as mine, shudder just a bit.
The WWI 10th FA pin is WWI vintage and did not come with his Silver Star however it displays well with the award and will be included.
