Well documented North Vietnamese Army
Honor Unit flag with capture document
Certainly comparable in rarity to IIIrd Reich or Civil War flags bringing thousands more!
Measuring approximately 40" x 28", in excellent condition, with intricate chain stitch embroidery, applied construction and fringe.  The phrase CO DANH DU translates to HONOR UNIT.
The veteran, serving with the 4/47 Co. E Recon in the 9th Division in 1968, wrote a detailed 8 typed page letter detailing his service and the capture of the flag from a cache during a Riverine mission out of Dong Tam. He has also included color COPIES of three photo's he had taken with other members of the unit, he copied the inscriptions from the reverse as well.
To further document the capture is the ORIGINAL Army capture document from when he brought the flag home.
A fantastic piece of Vietnam militaria, seldom do I find anything so well documented!
