U.S.C.T. African American Soldier & Wife Tintypes
¼ plate cased tintype image of an African American Union soldier accompanied by a cased tintype of African American woman. As found with an inscribed post war CdV of a young, African American man in civilian attire. The CdV is backmarked to H.M. Lovell, Southbridge, Mass. and is period pencil inscribed

William Albert Robinson was born in 1860 and is the young man in the CdV. His father was William Francis Robinson, who served in the 84th U.S.C.T. and his mother was Emma Brackett Robinson. The elder William Robinson enlisted 10/1/1863 at Port Hudson, LA as a 1st Sgt in Co. B of the 84th U.S. Colored Infantry.
