Last Confederate Reunion Badge
The Sixty-first National UCV Reunion, The Last United Confederate reunion was held from May 30 to June 3, 1951 in Norfolk, VA. Twelve men identified as Confederate veterans were known to be living in 1951 and three veterans attended the reunion. Replicas of the nation's first ironclad warships, the "Monitor" and the "Merrimack," re-enacted their famous battle in Hampton Roads 89 years ago. The MO.ck battle was a highlight of the 51st reunion. The final UCV Commander-in-Chief, General James W. Moore, died on February 26, 1951 prior to the reunion.
The 61st Last Confederate Reunion badge was a pinback celluloid button that was given to the veterans and guests.
