Indian Wars Pennsylvania Ladder Badge
The members of the Pennsylvania National Guard conducted extensive maneuvers in the 1890’s and many members purchased ladder badges to commemorate each station. I have never seen one with this many bars. The top bar is engraved Co. B 4th Regt. and the next bar with the soldiers name G.A. REX. There are 6 camp bars below that dated from 1892 through 1897. The PNG Penn. Nat. Guard keystone drop at the bottom. The 4th Pennsylania Volunteer Infantry served in Puerto Rico during the Spanish American War and the roster confirms that Corporal George A. Rex was a member of Company B and was from Allentown, PA.
