CSA Boyle & Gamble Foot Officer's Sword
A true 'Attic find' Confederate sword, interestingly this attic was in upstate NewYork as it was brought home by an unnamed Union enlisted man.
A classic Boyle and Gamble Foot Officer's pattern with etched blade including CSA. Typical Southern manufacture features; an unstopped fuller, leather grip wrap, and singale wrap wire.
The fittings are dark from age but free of rust. The etching is present but faint with spotting and age to blade. No chips, nicks and never sharpened.
The scabbard is solid and strong but missing the drag, the family had taped the tip, still restoreable. Missing the upper scabbard fitting screw.
A rare chance at a rare sword!
