Civil War Army Brooklyn Medal & Tintype
Unidentified pair as found. The Brooklyn Civil War Service Medal is suspended from a period as worn American flag drape.
Accompanied by a rare tintype image of soldier wearing his Brooklyn medal. The image is housed in a paper frame with Hannay's Ferrotype Fulton Ave. Brooklyn New York photographer's backmark on the reverse.
Interestingly a similar pair sold recently on ebay that included the soldiers discharge, no unit named. I speculate that several members of a particular regiment or company had their images done after receiving the medal. A bit of research could likely narrow down to a unit.
