WWII D Bar Chocolate Ration
Perhaps the hardest to find of the WWII U.S. rations.
Created by Hershey Chocolates to provide a portable, compact, high energy supplement to the diet of the G.I. in and could be used for hot chocolate or added to coffee. Few examples have survived WWII and this one is from a case of 12 discovered a couple years ago. The bar is intact and unopened and even scarcer as it was manufactured by Cracker Jack Co., not Hershey.
