officially hand engraved to
with the original tissue award citation as found folded in the case.
1st Lt. Stoddard earned his award for servicein May of 1945 with the 103rd Regimental Combat Team acting as a Forward Air Controller for the unit directing attacks on enemy positions.
The 103rd RCT was activated from the Maine National Guard for WWII and served throughout the Pacific Campaigns attached to the 43rd Division.  May 1945 found them serving in heavy combat in the Phillipinnes.
