Identified CBI Air Commando Glider Pilot uniform and jump jacket. Lt. Gerald Arkfield of Norfolk, VA was decorated for a mission when he flew British and Indian troops in a glider assault behind Japanese lines.
Includes his serial number i.d.ed paratrooper jump jacket with theater made CBI and AAF shoulder patches and Lt's bars. The khaki overseas cap has his laundry serial number mark as well. An officer’s service tunic with sterling pinback Glider Pilot wings, rank & branch emblems and service ribbons. The excellent o.d. wool officers visored service cap is named to the vet inside. All in his large military issue flight bag.
