AAF Aerial Gunners Badges, engraved to a KIA
This pair was in an AAF uniform collection I purchased about a year ago, I don't believe anyone ever noticed the Air Gunner wing is engraved!
The badges are a hard to find Army Air Corps Aerial Gunner tech badge, open catch, unmarked. And an early two piece STERLING marked 3" Air Gunner wing. The reverse of the wing is script engraved
J. C. Vaughan 13056062
Attractive and well executed, the engraving will stand out more if the wing is polished, I leave that decision to the next owner.
T5 James C. Vaughan was from Pennsylvania, and lost his life when German flak hit his B17, on August 13, 1944. He was serving in the 331st Bomb Squadron.
$200.00 SOLD
More on T5 Vaughan is found at this link.
